Gluing Machining
A CMI Equipment and Engineering Gluing Machine is an integration
of custom gluing equipment with an industrial robot. The custom
equipment consists of a Glue Dispense System, two shuttle and press
systems, conveyor system and one industrial robot. A six axis robot
is used to dispense glue in a specific pattern/orientation onto
the work piece. Glue is dispensed at a certain process parameters,
i.e. flow, pressures, temperature, to create a uniform bead on the
work piece. This machine is an operator paced semi automatic system.
The operator places a work piece onto the shuttle in a specific
orientation. The PLC system has built in Poka Yoke / fail safes
to ensure the operator has loaded the work piece correctly on the
shuttle fixture. The shuttle then advances to the robot for the
gluing application. Once the gluing is complete the shuttle returns
to the operator. At this time the operator places the mating part
on the work piece for the press to apply the necessary force to
adhere the pieces together. The operator then places the assembled
work piece onto the curing conveyor. There are many Poka Yoke/ fail-safe
features designed into this system to ensure a quality process.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems
A CMI Equipment and Engineering TPMS machine is a semi automatic
operator paced assembly machine. The TPMS Machine assembles a Tire
Pressure Monitoring device to a wheel. A TPMS Machine consists of
a mechanical locking fixture stand, banding device, a 2D scanner,
TPMS RFID reader, a printer, a PC, and a PLC controls system. The
sophisticate control system is used to capture, verify, transfer
and retain process data. There are several different Poka Yoke/
fail-safe built into this system. There are fail safes to ensure
the TPMS devices is mounted in the correct orientation, with the
correct banding parameters, with proper data collection and verification,
all to ensure a quality process.
